It is that time of year again when interior and design firms announce their colour of the year. We always follow the news updates avidly as it is a good indicator of the direction the interiors industry is going in over the next 12 months. Colour and trend experts analyse the mood of the moment and translate this into the new Colour of the Year.
We were absolutely delighted when British paint brand Dulux announced their Colour of the Year 2022 as Bright Skies. Described as an "airy and fresh tone that opens up and breathes new life into any space", its absolutely the kind of colour we love to work with here at Rebecca Pitcher HQ and in fact we launched a range of cushions earlier this year which are just that shade of cool and fresh coastal blue.
The colour experts at Dulux chose this shade as it "perfectly captures the optimism and desire for a fresh start that is the mood of the moment" and we couldn't agree more!
Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director of Dulux UK, says: “Right now, people want to feel revitalised and enjoy the freedoms that are returning to them, to look out and bring in new ideas. What better inspiration can we take than the endless skies around us?
“It is widely known that nature makes us feel better and taking steps to bring the outside in enhances our sense of wellbeing.
“So whether we are working or relaxing, creating or exercising, it is essential to have a space that reflects the optimism and desire for a fresh, new start that is top of the agenda for the year ahead.
